Als Kontrast zur heiss geliebten Linck Keramik haben wir diese Saison die wunderschönen Vasen der Deutschen Designerin Alexa Lixfeld im Sortiment.
Die Vasen sind aus hauchdünnem Beton und Porzelan gemacht. Jedes Stück ist handgefertigt und sehr angenehm zu berühren. Mit den rohen Kanten und der unregelmässigen Form erinnern sie an gegossenen beton.

Sichtbarmachen der Prozesshaftigkeit von kontemporärem Design. Die Verbindung
von Computer Aided Design = CAD und traditionellem Handwerk. Verschmelzung von
formalen Aspekten industrieller Herstellung und der Einzigartigkeit welche durch traditionelle Handwerkskunst
erreicht werden kann. Umsetzung: Verschmelzung eines Zylinders mit jeweils einem
aufrechten und einem umgekehrten kleineren Kegel im CAD, Umsetzung durch CNC und Handwerk.
Die Formen sind dabei computergeneriert, das uneigentliche Ornament der durch die handwerkliche
Herstellung entstandenen Grate wird zum Dekor. Unterstützt wird der Entwurf durch die in Abstufungen
durchgefärbte Porzellanmasse.

Vogue, Elle und NY Times sind begeistert von den eigenwilligen Kreationen der Textil Designerin. There is no doubt about it - at the moment the world is full of nice thing for your kitchen. These fragile glasses make me think of warm summer evenings in the garden, freshly made summer tea with mint and lemon, long days and swimming in the lakes.
They are handmade made by the german glass manufactory Theresienthal.
