Why always looking for new styles when there is already a perfect fit out there? One you can never go wrong with, one you can mix and match with just about anything!
I am talking about the legendary 501 original fit by Levi's, invented by Jacob Davis and Levi Strauss in 1873. True American Heritage. Levi's 501's are being worn and loved all over the world. They are simple, true and original. The combination of comfort and toughness gives a sense of freedom and self confidence to millions of devoted wearers.

The two visionary immigrants turned denim, thread and a little metal into the most popular clothing product in the world. Waist overalls was the traditional name for work pants, which is what these first jeans were called. The waist overalls where actually born trough the need of robust work pants by the Californian forty-niner (gold-digger). At first, Levi Strauss used brown sail cloth for the pants and because Jacob Davis was tired of constantly repairing the pant pockets, they added copper rivets for more strength - the first Levi's was born. And very soon after, they discovered the indigo color with which they dyed the fabric. In the first 50 years the jeans was mostly worn by cowboys, farmers and miners. The word jeans became more popular around the 1960's when the baby boom generation adopted the term for its favorite type of pants, the blue jeans.

James Dean - The Blue Rebellion

In America, the Levi's 501 was still symbolizing the "values" of the Wild West while the so-called Wild West was long gone. The dream factory Hollywood picked up the zeitgeist and created new heroes - heroes in blue jeans like James Dean and Marlon Brando.

With their movies "Rebel without a Cause - 1955" or "The Wild One - 1953" they expressed the growing dissatisfaction of the young generation, symbolized the rebellion against the old and their conventions, against a monotone life with material abundance and emotional emptiness.
The heroes on screen became the role models of the youth, wearing blue jeans became a lifestyle. Along with the fim reels of Hollywood came the booming jeans culture to Europe.

Flower people and pacifists:

The New Yorker Woodstock Festival in 1969 is being considered the height of the hippie and flower power movement. The festival appears like a denim commercial presentation.

California artist Bruce Wolfe was responsible for some of the most creative and compelling imagery for the brand's series of posters. These posters are among the best of his work.

T-Shirt Butter Wash ROCKET

Die T-Shirts von Butterwash sind alle schön lang geschnitten und der Stoff fühlt sich sehr angenehm auf der Haut an.
Dieses hier ist mein Lieblingsstück, denn es leuchtet im Dunkeln.

I really like the long cut of the Butterwash t-shirts and the fabric is exceptionally soft. This one is my favorite - it glows in the dark.

Julia Hoody

Die Julia Hoodies sind in vier Farben erhältlich: grau, braun, schwarz und türkis. Der Schnitt ist ideal und sie sind einfach mit allem kombinierbar. Da ich mich für keine Farbe entscheiden konnte, habe ich mir das schwarze gekauft. Aber wie ich mich kenne, werde ich mir nächsten Monat noch das graue kaufen. Und den Monat darauf das braune. Und zu Weihnachten wünsche ich mir noch das türkisfarbene.

This hoody is available in the colors gray, brown, black and turquoise. I like the simple cut and they go with anything. I couldn't decide which color I wanted so I just picked the black one. But next month I guess I will also get the gray one. And the month after I'll go for the brown one. And for Christmas I want the one in turquoise.


Smafolk Dachshund

Die Prints von Smafolk finde ich alle absolut süss! Der Print mit den Dachshunden ist jedoch mein absolutes Lieblingsmotiv! Schade, dass dieser Schlafanzug nicht in meiner Grösse erhältlich ist.

The prints by Smafolk are just unbelivably cute. The dachshund is my favorite. It's a pitty they don't make those pj's in my size.

Gurt Carhartt

Ich habe mir gerade diesen Ledergurt von Carhartt gekauft. Ich mag seinen klassischen, einfachen Stil. Die vielen sternförmigen Löcher sind ein schönes Detail und ermöglichen ein perfektes justieren des Gurtes, egal ob du gerade ein paar Pfunde verloren oder zugenommen hast - dieser Gurt passt sich an.

I just bought this leather belt by Carhartt. I like its classic simple style with a twist - the holes are star shaped. And there are so many of them you can adjust the belt perfectly around your waist no matter if you just dropped a few pounds or gained some - this belt will always fit you just right.


Pullover Carhartt

Dieser Pullover von Carhartt ist in verschiedenen Farben erhältlich. Die feine Merinowolle fühlt sich weich auf der Haut an und wärmt wie ein dicker Winterpulli. Dieser simple Pulli ist nicht nur alltagstauglich, sondern kann - dank seinem edlen Material - auch mal an etwas spezielleren Anlässen getragen werden. Ich besitze dieses Modell in braun und besass einen in rot - bis ihn meine Freundin in die Waschmaschine geworfen hat. Nun kann ihn mein 2 Jahre alter Neffe tragen und ich mache meine Wäsche selbst.

This merino wool sweater comes in different colors. I really like its soft fabric, it keeps me warm without the bulk. This basic sweater is an everyday item but can also be worn on special informal occasions thanks to its premium quality fabric. I've got one in brown and I had one in red - until my girlfriend threw it in the washing machine. Now my 2 year old nephew can wear it and I'm doing the laundry myself.


Jeans Edwin

Diese Jeans von Edwin gefällt mir besonders gut. Sie ist schmal und trotzdem nicht zu eng geschnitten - ideal für meine schlanke Figur. Diese Hose passt zu allem. Ich trage sie besonders gerne mit meinem Carhartt Gurt und zu meinem braunen Carhartt Pullover. Der rote hätte noch besser dazu gepasst.

I love the cut of these jeans by Edwin. They're not too tight but perfectly slim for slender shaped bodies like mine. These basic jeans can be worn with just anything. They look great with my carhartt belt and my brown carhartt sweater (and would have with the red one too).

Pullover Gloria
Dies ist einer meiner Lieblingspullover. Er ist besonders bequem geschnitten. Ein weiterer Pluspunkt ist die optimale Länge. Der Pulli lässt sich wunderbar über Leggins tragen. Ich bevorzuge ihn jedoch in Kombination mit Jeans.

This is my favorite sweater, it's very comfortable to wear. Also a plus for me is the sweater's extra long cut - it's just perfect for wearing it over leggins, although I preferably wear it with jeans.

T - Shirt Fleur
Dieses Modell liebe ich einfach. Der Schnitt ist ausgezeichnet und der Stoff fühlt sich an wie eine zweite Haut! Genial an diesem Shirt sind seine überlangen Ärmel! Ich besitze das Teil bereits in jeder erhältlichen Farbe.



I just love this shirt. It's got a perfect cut and the fabric is so soft - it feels like a second skin. The extra long sleeves are fantastic. I own this shirt in every available color!

Aalleder-Portemonnaie
Dieses Protemonnaie ist sehr speziell, da es aus Aal-Leder gefertigt ist. Es hat eine wunderschöne Form und ist sehr praktisch. Ich habe das Portemonnaie schon vor einigen Monaten gekauft und es sieht immer noch aus wie neu! Jetzt spare ich noch auf die dazugehörige Handtasche.



What makes this wallet so special is the soft leather fabric which is made of real eel skin. I also love its beautiful shape. I bought this wallet months ago and it still looks brand new! Now I'm saving up for the matching purse.

Haglöf Tight Large

Der "Haglöf Tight Large" ist ein wahrhaftig alltagstauglicher Rucksack. Er ist in den Farben grün/schwarz und grau/schwarz erhältlich. Wie es der Name schon sagt, liegt dieser Rucksack eng am Rücken an. Seine verstärkte Rückseite erhöht den Tragekomfort und erlaubt eine bessere Luftzirkulation, was ich speziell beim Sporttreiben als sehr angenehm empfinde. Der Rucksack ist sehr kompakt und lässt sich durch die beiden Seitengurte noch enger zusammenschnüren. Als Motorradfahrer finde ich die beiden Seitengurte auch sehr praktisch. Ich hänge einfach meinen Ersatzhelm daran - man weiss ja schliesslich nie, wann ich noch einen Mitfahrer aufgable. Dieser kompakte und leichte Rucksack (ca. 730 gr. Nettogewicht) hat ein Fassungsvermögen von 30 Litern. Zusätzliche Funktionen, die ich schätze: abnehmbarer Hüftgurt und abnehmbare Halterung für Eispickel.

The "Haglöf Tight Large" backpack is an allround and everyday item. It comes in two different colors: green/black and grey/black. As the name may already reveal, this backpack fits pretty thight to one's back. The back is also strengthened to make it even more comfortable to wear and it also allows a better ventilation, which is especially useful when I'm doing sports. The backpack is highly compressible and its content can be further compressed with two belts on each side. The belts also come in handy when I'm on the road with my bike. I simply attach an extra helmet to them - you never know who I might pick up for a ride. This lightweight backpack (approx. 730 grams) holds up to 30 litres. Additional features I like: detachable hip belt and detachable ice axe loop.

Timer

Ich liebe es zu kochen und habe erst gerade meinen alten Timer entsorgt. Als Katzenbesitzer musste ich dieses Teil einfach haben. Und endlich werden die 3-Minuten-Eier auch wieder "purrfekte" 3-Minuten-Eier.

I just love to cook and just recently tossed my old kitchen timer. As a cat owner I just had to get this one. Now my 3-minute-eggs really are "purrfect" 3-minute-eggs.

Grey's Anatomie

Meine gute Ausrede, Montag abends nicht mit meinen Freunden um die Häuser zu ziehen: Grey's Anatomie! Seit der ersten Folge bin ich süchtig. Und nun kann ich mir die ganze erste Staffel auf DVD anschauen - die beste Ausrede, um das Lernen ausfallen zu lassen.

My good excuse for not going out with my friends on Monday nights - Grey's Anatomy! The very first episode got me hooked! Now I get to see the whole first season all over again on dvd - that's what I call a good reason to skip homework!

Osh Kosh Dungareen

Als Mutter von einem 2 jährigen Kind weiss ich robuste Hosen die auch noch gut aussehen zu schätzen. Ich habe als Kind selber Osh Kosh getragen und mein Sohn trägt meine alten nun aus. Die Spuren der Zeit können sie nicht leugnen aber sie sind immer noch voll funktionsfähig.
Vielleicht nicht ganz so billig wie bei H&M dafür hat sie nicht jedes Kind und sie halten sicher bis zur Nächsten Generation.
Die Osh Kosh die sie bei uns kaufen können werden von einem Dänischen Lizenznehmer hergestellt und haben, im unterschied zu den Amerikanischen, noch immer die alten (und viel schöneren ) Knöpfe und Etiketten.

As a mother of a 2 year old I have learned to appreciate pants made of sturdy fabrics. I myself have worn Osh Kosh as a kid and my son gets them now as a hand-me-down. Although the time has left its marks on them, they still do their job. They may not be as inexpensive as the pants you get at H&M but then you don't get to see them on every other child either and they last forever. The Osh Kosh you can get here are made by a Danish licence holder and - unlike the American ones - they still got the old (a much nicer) buttons and labels.

Gloriole

Linck Keramik gefiel schon James Bond und ist im "Im Auftrag ihrer Majestät"  prominent in Dekor zu entdecken.

Das Unternehmen besteht seit 1942. Hergestellt wird in derselben Töpferwerkstatt, die Margit Linck (1897 – 1983), Künstlerin und Keramikerin in ihrem Haus aus der Jahrhundertwende in Reichenbach bei Zollikofen eingerichtet hat.
Das kleine Team fertigt die Modelle in weiterhin in stiller, konzentrierter Handarbeit, anhand von Musterrteilen und Originalzeichnungen an.
Am Abend, nach einem heissen Bad auf dem Sofa liegen den Observer lesen und den Blick von Zeit zu Zeit über die schöne Linck Vase schreichen lassen, ist erholung pur.

Swear Jimmy

Sometimes you're fascinated with things for the simple reason of not being able to decide if you just love or simply hate them. That's exactly how I feel with these shoes by SWEAR. Are pointed toe shoes now the fashionable Must Have of the season or are we dealing here just with a fast moving stylistic faux pas par exellence? No question, these shoes look great on drug addicted rock stars who are just skin and bones wearing thight jeans. But do they fit on my less glamorous feet? I still haven't found out to this very day. But one's for sure: should my inner dispute vanish in measurable time and the decision be made in favor of this questionable footgear - there will a brand new pair be waiting for me in my closet.

Norm 69

My position to this luster is much more well-defined. I'm enthusiastic about the Norm 69. This old fashioned yet modern lamp shaped somewhat like a hedgehog has been hanging in my living-room for years and I never get tired of looking at it. This design classic by architect Simon Karkov offers far more than just spending light - a veritable show of light and shadow evolves from the 69 artful arranged single components of this lamp shade as soon as you switch it on. The Norm 69 comes in a put-it-together-yourself-set. By far no familiy fun but a meditation act rewarded by real enlightenment.
