Confession

I have to confess I went to COS (Collection of Style) and I even bought two pieces. For those among you who don't know (yet) what COS is: COS is the new concept from H&M.

COS is filled with neutral tones and styles and is the progeny of H&M that merges high fashion attributes (meticulous fabrics finish and fit) with ground level pricing; creating inspirational design that’s financially accessible.

The shop itself is not to exciting but you can definitely find some nice frocks. ( It hurts to say that but then again what else to expect from H&M ... )

Anyway I just fell in love with a pair of grey lacquer ballerinas. For weeks I was thinking about how I could introduce lacquer into my shoe collection but my mind was so simple that I could only think of black or red lacquer shoes, and I can't see myself in that.

So here they are - aren't they just lovely?

Modesty Blaise by Peter O'Donnell

In the beginning there is Modesty. Cooler than the pretentious James Bond and with one of the cutest sidekicks in fiction, the drop-dead gorgeous Willie Garvin.
Modesty, unlike all the male heroes of the genre, has nothing to prove. The Bonds and assorted other action heroes all seem to be struggling incessantly to show us how macho they are. Modesty simply... is. An orphan from God knows where, she grew up in a refugee camp and wandered all across the Middle East as a child, picking up super-developed survival skills on the way. By her late teens she was running an international crime syndicate, The Network (no drugs and prostitution) and we meet her in the first book, 'Modesty Blaise', when she and Willie have retired, still only in their early thirties, if that, with too much time on their hands and a constant thirst for adventure. Not to mention all those finely-honed fighting skills to test out. Modesty and Willie charge around the world, drawn in reluctantly to a series of caper/adventures withimprobably nasty villains and ruthless opponents. All plotted to perfection...

A great Idea

Picture 7-3

As someone who travels a lot I am really fed up with overpriced Hotels that usually offer less more than over decorated Hotel rooms a mini bar and a tv. When what you really would want is WiFi, a simple and not to expensive room, a nice breakfast and friendly people.
So I love this Idea:

"During a casual conversation about the upcoming 2007 IDSA conference Joe Gebbia and Brian Chesky, two independent entrepreneurs with product design backgrounds, had the idea to rent out extra space in their apartment to conference attendees. They then launched a website so that other San Franciscans could list their own apartments as convenient crashpads for conference-goers. "

atmos x PORTER x Pendleton - Backpack

atmos x PORTER x Pendleton - Backpack:

porter_atmos_back_01.jpg

The Portland, Oregon based Pendleton Woolen Mills has kept the tradition of manufacturing quality wool products since its founding in 1863. The company is wholly owned and operate by the Bishop family, the 5th generation to be exact. The company also has a long standing tradition with the Native American culture. Almost since the beginning, the company served the needs of Northwest and Southwest Native American nations. The company sets out to learn about each tribe’s culture and preference, then created colors and patterns accordingly. Its products, especially its wool blankets, are highly prized till the present time.

So for their 11th collaborations, atmos and YOSHIDA & CO., the maker of HEAD PORTER, decided on the incorporations of wool fabrics by Pendleton into limited edition backpack. Each bag’s exterior retains the quality and bold patterns found on the famous Pendleton blankets, while the interior is layered with bright fuchsia lining. There is also a series of d-rings for easy attachment of accessories. The bag comes in 2 patterns and set to release this Friday, October 12th. Currently, atmos Tokyo and eproze of ZOZOTOWN are taking pre-orders.
